Science Teacher – Biology Specialist

We are seeking a Science Teacher – Biology Specialist to join our Senior School team on a temporary full-time basis for the remainder of the 2026 school year.

With demonstrated expertise in Biology, this role calls for strong subject knowledge and a passion for engaging students in Science. The successful applicant will deliver high-quality teaching, inspire and motivate students, and contribute positively to the wider School community.

The successful applicant will be collaborative, committed and keen to contribute to a positive and collegial Science Department. They will share ideas, listen to others, take responsibility for their work and reflect on their practice, with a genuine commitment to the learning and development of students.

Availability to commence before 7th September 2026 is highly desirable to support a smooth handover.

Employment Overview

• Temporary full-time position
• Ideally commencing 7th September 2026 or earlier
• Concluding at the end of Term 4 2026
• Based at Wentworth Falls
• Salary in accordance with the Independent Schools CMEA

Key Responsibilities

• Teach allocated Science classes, with a particular focus on Biology
• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging programs that meet curriculum requirements and cater to a range of student abilities and learning needs
• Deliver high-quality practical and theoretical learning experiences
• Assess student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with the Science Department and contribute to curriculum planning and development
• Contribute to school activities, including pastoral care, events, and meetings, as required
• Maintain professional standards and uphold the School’s policies and values

Requirements

• NESA accreditation and relevant tertiary qualifications in Science, with a specialisation in Biology
• Demonstrated experience teaching Biology at secondary level
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements
• Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Full Australian work rights
• Ability to commence prior to 7th September 2026 is highly desirable
