ELECTRICAL TEAM LEADER - $73.57 P/H - NORTH ST MARYS

Are you a highly experienced Industrial Electrician who knows how to lead from the floor and get the best out of a team?

Phoenix Source & Select is recruiting an Electrical Team Leader for a long established Australian company specialising in the manufacture, repair and refurbishment of heavy railway machinery.

This role needs more than technical ability. We’re looking for someone who can lead an established team, manage strong personalities and confidently drive change while remaining hands on and technically credible.

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am to 2:30pm
• Accrued monthly RDO
• Ongoing stable work

The role

You'll lead the electrical team while remaining actively involved on the workshop floor.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a team of experienced electricians
• Wiring, installation, testing and commissioning of heavy machinery
• Troubleshooting and complex fault finding
• Reading electrical drawings and schematics
• Working with motors, sensors, relays and control systems
• Coordinating work and maintaining productivity across the team
• Managing different personalities and addressing performance or behavioural issues when required
• Improving processes and bringing the team along with change
• Working closely with fitters, boilermakers and other trades

Who we're looking for

You’ll be a qualified Electrician with a current NSW Electrical Licence and strong industrial experience working directly on machinery or heavy equipment.

Just as importantly, you’ll be a calm and confident leader who can command respect without creating conflict.

You need to be resilient, assertive and comfortable having difficult conversations when required. You'll know how to manage different personalities, build relationships and challenge the “we've always done it this way” mentality without alienating the team.

This is a hands on leadership role, so we're looking for someone who leads from the floor rather than from behind a desk.
