Infectious Diseases - Clinical Research Fellow
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) is a Victorian public health service and a world-leading comprehensive cancer centre, dedicated to excellence across all spheres of clinical care, research, and education. About the team
The National Centre for Infections in Cancer (NCIC) is a dedicated infectious diseases service and research centre focused on managing infections in immunocompromised patients. Working within a world-leading cancer centre, the team conducts innovative clinical research that improves outcomes for people affected by cancer and serious infections.
About the role
As the Infectious Diseases - Clinical Research Fellow, you will provide high-quality clinical oversight and care for patients enrolled in infection-related clinical trials while contributing to research, education and service development within the Infectious Diseases Unit. You will play a key role in protocol development, study conduct, patient recruitment, data collection and manuscript preparation.

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a world leading cancer centre with a dedicated infectious diseases service and research centre that manages infections in immunocompromised patients. The National Centre for Infections in Cancer (NCIC) Clinical Research Fellow will provide high quality oversight and care for patients enrolled in infection clinical trials, assist in developing studies and study conduct including protocol development, sponsorship and ethics applications, determining eligibility, screening, consenting, enrolment, co-ordinating and conducting study visits, and capturing adverse events. The fellow will perform data collection, manuscript writing and participate in Infectious diseases unit education and team meetings and will participate in education and research in the field of infectious diseases.

SR9-11 depending on experience
Category A: Position involving direct patient contact, potential for exposure to blood, body fluid, human tissue specimens during course of a normal working day
| Internal | Department of infectious diseases, PMCC and all other PMCC Departments as required. |
| External | Infection and immunity Departments within the precinct eg VIDS, Doherty, MDU, RMH etc, and research partners nationally (eg Austin, Westmead, University of Queensland CRE RESPOND, the National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship) and internationally (eg Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre) |
