Lead Estimator & Pre-Contract Manager

We’re not hiring an estimator. We’re hiring someone to own the commercial engine of a business scaling toward $50M.

Danrae Group has been NSW’s trusted name in remedial waterproofing and roofing since 1996 — family-owned, “No Leaks. Guaranteed.” We’re growing fast, and this year we’re targeting $7M in gross profit sales. This role sits at the centre of that growth.

This isn’t a job where you price a quote and hand it off. You’ll own the deal from first take-off through to contract signature — pricing it right, protecting our position on every contract term, and handing a clean, fully documented job to our delivery team. If you’ve ever watched a great quote turn into a bad job because nobody checked the contract terms, you know exactly why this role exists.

What you’ll own

• Pricing that protects margin. Accurate take-offs and estimates across remedial waterproofing and roofing tenders, using SimPRO and other related tools
• Contract risk, before it’s someone else’s problem. Review every head contract for liquidated damages, retention, defects liability, and indemnity clauses before we submit and negotiate the commercial terms that matter.
• A clean handover, every time. Build the full contract handover pack and walk our delivery team through it before mobilisation, so nothing falls through the cracks between winning the job and running it.
• A high-performing estimating team. You’ll have an estimator reporting to you this is a leadership role, not a solo pricing seat.
• A seat in the strategy conversation. Contribute directly to Danrae’s growth milestones as we scale toward $50M+.

What we’re looking for

• Solid estimating experience in construction, remedial building works, or a related trade — waterproofing or roofing background highly regarded
• Commercial confidence: you understand contracts, margin, and risk, not just take-offs
• SimPRO or equivalent construction estimating software experience
• Someone who leads you’ll have a direct report from day one
• A builder’s mindset: you see a gap in a process and you fix it, not work around it
