About the role
Recognized Degree or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer. Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer work or willingness to work towards completing.
Personal lived experience of a mental illness, with willingness and demonstrated ability to utilise the lived experience, the values of peer support and the consumer/survivor/ex-patient movement to support others in their own mental health recovery journey.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including service users, families and service providers.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate empathically, supportively, and effectively with consumers, carers and colleagues.
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
