Tender Manager (Commercial)

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Tender Manager to join our thriving Commercial Division. You'll lead the commercial bidding department utilising end-to-end tender submission strategy, managing the bidding pipeline, and working collaboratively with the Estimating Manager to continually refine systems to win Commercial projects. This is an ideal role for someone ready to take on greater responsibility and impact.

What You'll Do

• Oversee, run, and take ultimate accountability for the Estimating and Bidding department within the Commercial Division.

• Lead the management, development and continuous improvement of standard tender submission documentation, departmental checks and processes.

• Develop comprehensive construction programs to ensure accurate project delivery timelines during the bid phase

• Produce detailed project management plans, construction methodologies, and submission documentation tailored to client requirements

• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to coordinate and facilitate biweekly tender team meetings, driving alignment, accountability and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to facilitate comprehensive handovers of successful tenders from Estimating to Construction, ensuring a seamless transition and clear understanding of project, commercial and contractual requirements.

• Lead the submission strategy for active Expressions of Interest, Budgets, and Tenders.

• Oversee the management of RFIs, subcontractor quotes, and formal clarifications during live bid cycles

• Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and actively source, track, and secure new commercial opportunities.

• Analyse unsuccessful tenders, logging data to implement system upgrades.

• Lead formal tender reviews with the Estimating Manager, Commercial Manager, and Managing Director prior to final submission

What We're Looking For

• Tertiary qualification in construction management or related field

• 10+ years of construction management experience across commercial, industrial, civil, and earthworks projects

• Proven track record of leading successful high profile bids

• Strong leadership skills with ability to manage commercial procurement and risk

• High computer literacy (Word, Excel, online procurement hubs, and Estimate One)

• Exceptional persuasive writing, presentation, and professional communication skills

• Demonstrated commercial acumen in strategic advantages, commercial risks, and win-theme identification

• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
