Our Spatial Insights team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Scientist (Spatial). The Senior Scientist (Environment Officer Class 9) plays a key role within the Science and Insights division of the NSW DCCEEW. The position is responsible for providing advanced scientific and technical expertise, supporting strategic science priorities, and the delivery of rigorous scientific programs and projects under the NSW Plan for Nature and the Remote Sensing and Landscape Science branch strategy. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, developing research partnerships, providing expert advice, preparing scientific reports and presentations, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for a science professional who enjoys combining research, stakeholder engagement and project leadership to contribute to biodiversity conservation, environmental management and evidence-based policy outcomes across NSW.
About You
You are an experienced and technically strong spatial scientist with a proven track record of delivering complex scientific projects and providing evidence-based insights to inform decision-making. You bring strong analytical skills, the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to a variety of audiences, and a collaborative approach to building partnerships across government, academia and research organisations. You are comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and mentoring others while maintaining a commitment to high-quality scientific outcomes.
