Senior Contract Administrator

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Contract Administrator to join a major construction project in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior commercial position on a significant high-rise development, working alongside an experienced project team and taking ownership of key commercial and contractual functions from procurement through to project completion.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager / Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial administration of the project, working closely with the site and project delivery teams to ensure contractual, financial and procurement outcomes are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• End-to-End Contract Administration: Managing contracts from procurement and subcontractor engagement through to final account and project close-out.

• Commercial Management: Monitoring project costs, commitments, cash flow, forecasting and monthly financial reporting.

• Procurement: Managing subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, tendering, negotiations and package recommendations.

• Subcontractor Management: Administering subcontract agreements, assessing claims, variations, extensions of time and progress payments.

• Variations & Claims: Identifying, assessing and negotiating variations and contractual claims to protect project commercial outcomes.

• Cost Control: Maintaining accurate cost reporting and ensuring project expenditure remains aligned with approved budgets.

• Contractual Compliance: Ensuring all contractual obligations, notices and correspondence are appropriately managed.

• Project Reporting: Providing regular commercial reporting and updates to senior project leadership.

• Stakeholder Management: Building strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and internal project stakeholders.

• Project Close-Out: Managing final accounts, defects-related commercial matters and contractual close-out.

About you

• Proven experience as a Senior Contract Administrator within the construction industry.

• Previous experience working on high-rise residential, apartments, hotel or mixed-use developments.

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes.

• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account.

• Strong capability across variations, claims, EOTs, progress claims and cost reporting.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

• The ability to work collaboratively with project delivery teams while independently managing your commercial responsibilities.

• A relevant construction, quantity surveying, engineering or commercial qualification is advantageous.
