Louise Jean Jewellery
About the role
About LOUISE JEAN
Founded in 2013, LOUISE JEAN is a Sunshine Coast–based fine jewellery brand, known for our timeless designs and exceptional craftsmanship.
We specialise in bespoke engagement and wedding rings, crafted for our clients across Australia and internationally.
Our work is grounded in precision, care, and a deep respect for the craft.
Joining our team means becoming part of a considered, design-led environment - where every detail matters, and each piece is made to be worn and loved for a lifetime.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Part-Time Bench Jeweller to join our workshop team.
This role is suited to someone with a genuine passion for jewellery making and a strong foundation in the craft, who is eager to continue developing their skills in a professional fine jewellery environment.
You may be an experienced jeweller looking for a new environment, a late-stage apprentice or recent graduate ready to take the next step, or someone with strong practical skills and a genuine passion for jewellery who is looking to build their experience. Previous professional experience is highly regarded, but is not essential - we're more interested in your ability, attitude and willingness to learn.
You'll be someone who takes genuine pride in your work and enjoys the process as much as the outcome - with a sharp eye for detail, steady hands, and a commitment to craftsmanship. You'll be supported by our Production Manager and Senior Jewellers, with hands-on training and the opportunity to develop your technical skills within our workshop.
Just as importantly, you'll bring a positive, collaborative approach to the team in our close-knit workshop that values respect, open communication, and a supportive working environment.
Hours
Part-time, commencing at 3 days per week, with opportunity to grow.
Availability on Fridays is essential.
Location
Our purpose-built workshop is located in Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast - just moments from the ocean.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, clean and finish cast CAD pieces to a high standard
Carry out general jewellery repairs and workshop tasks, including soldering, resizing, polishing, rhodium plating and laser work
Maintain a clean, organised workbench and adhere to all safe work practices
Accurately track and record daily tasks within our production management system
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including feedback on production techniques and design refinements
Uphold exceptional standards of craftsmanship and quality control
Continue developing your technical skills through hands-on experience and training
Work closely with, and report to, the Production Manager & Senior Jewellers
About You
A genuine passion for jewellery making, with a strong desire to learn and refine your craft
A foundational understanding of jewellery manufacture, whether gained through an apprenticeship, formal training, professional experience or personal practice
A portfolio or examples of your work that demonstrate your practical skills and attention to detail
Experience with jewellery-related software (such as EasyCAM, CAD or other design programs) is highly regarded, though not essential
Experience in stone setting is highly regarded, though not essential
A willingness to learn new techniques and work to established processes and standards
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
Comfort working with precious metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team
Strong organisational and time management skills
Open to giving and receiving constructive feedback
A positive, proactive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Requirements
Must be based in Australia with full working rights
