Design Manager (Class 2)

We’re seeking a high‑calibre Design Manager to lead and coordinate the end‑to‑end design process across complex building projects in NSW. This role suits someone who thrives on solving technical problems, driving consultant performance, and ensuring designs are compliant, coordinated, and buildable.
What You’ll DoLead multidisciplinary design teams from concept to constructionManage architectural, structural, civil, services, façade and specialist consultantsOversee compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, DCPs, SEPPs and the D&BP ActRun design workshops, technical reviews, and coordination meetingsResolve design issues, RFIs, clashes, and construction‑stage queriesDrive design quality, constructability, and value engineeringManage design programs, deliverables, and approval pathways (DA, CC, CDC, OC)Act as the key interface between client, consultants, authorities, and project teams
What You BringStrong technical capability across building design and constructionDeep understanding of NSW regulatory frameworks and complianceProven experience managing multidisciplinary consultantsAbility to read, critique, and integrate complex technical documentationExcellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skillsA proactive, solutions‑focused mindset
QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similarExperience in Class 2 or complex building projects is a must
