Pastry Chef – Maison Cheryse, Barossa Valley

We’re looking for a skilled, hard-working pastry chef to join our small team at Maison Cheryse in the Barossa Valley.

You’ll work directly with French-trained pastry chef Cheryse Hill (formerly Zagler), producing high-quality laminated doughs, tarts, choux, and seasonal pastries using local produce.

Everything is made by hand. The work is hands-on, physical, and exacting; the kind of kitchen where technique, consistency, and speed matter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in early morning baking and preparation of pastries, breads, tarts, and savoury items

• Support kitchen prep work, including ingredient sourcing and assembly for daily service

• Contribute to service, ensuring our handmade delights are presented perfectly

• Maintain high standards of hygiene, organisation, and quality in a fast-paced kitchen

What We're Looking For:

• Professional experience in pastry, baking, or kitchen preparation

• Reliability, creativity, and a positive attitude

• Ability to thrive with early morning starts

• Passion for quality ingredients and seasonal, handmade food
