About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Manager Community Projects, this role provides senior day-to-day operational support to the Project Co-Ordinators, overseeing, supporting and helping maintain consistent project and service delivery across the portfolio. The role assists with staffing, reporting, compliance, resources, safety and operational problem-solving across the Community Projects portfolio including Tucker Run, Mud Brick, YeYa, Fisheries, EEAI, Community Night Patrol and other designated community-facing services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership, guidance and support to Project Co-Ordinators and other designated staff.

• Support the Manager Community Projects to coordinate work plans, staffing coverage, priorities and delivery across the Projects portfolio.

• Assist with operational coordination of Tucker Run, Mud Brick, YeYa, Fisheries, EEAI, Community Night Patrol and other designated community services.

• Monitor project and service delivery, attendance, records, reporting, compliance requirements and emerging operational issues.

• Coordinate practical responses to resourcing, vehicles, equipment, worksites and service continuity issues within delegated authority.

• Support safe work practices, incident response, risk management and timely escalation of significant concerns.

• Work respectfully with local participants, staff, community members and partner organisations in a culturally informed way.

• Support the Projects Manager with reporting, team priorities, stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally bring experience in program management, service coordination and supervising teams within complex service environments. Qualifications & Capabilities:

• Demonstrated experience in project coordination, service delivery or operational leadership, including responsibility for organising staff and competing priorities.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, guide and mentor coordinators or frontline staff and support consistent day-to-day performance.

• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate work across multiple activities or services.

• Experience maintaining accurate records, reporting, compliance requirements and basic budget or resource monitoring.

• Knowledge of work health and safety requirements, incident reporting and practical risk management.

• Ability to exercise sound judgement, work within delegated authority and escalate significant operational, staffing or safety issues appropriately.

• Current driver licence, National Police Certificate and Ochre Card, or the ability to obtain the required clearances.

• Ability to obtain permits required to work in or travel to Maningrida and surrounding homelands.

• Experience working in a remote Aboriginal community or Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.

• Experience in community projects, participation or work-readiness programs, education engagement, community safety or related services.

• Understanding of funding, contractual and reporting requirements relevant to community-based programs.

• Experience supporting Aboriginal workforce development, frontline leadership and staff capability.
