We're looking for a registered medical practitioner to attend our Brisbane Operations site on a contract basis to conduct external examinations of deceased persons in our care and issue the Form 4 - Permission to Cremate Certificate required under the Cremations Act 2003 (QLD) prior to cremation.

This is a flexible, casual contractor engagement — not a fixed roster. You'll coordinate attendance times directly with our Operations team around your own schedule.

• Attend Bare's Brisbane Operations site to conduct an external examination of the deceased

• Review the cause of death certificate and supporting documentation

• Complete and sign the Permission to Cremate (Form 4, Cremations Act 2003), confirming there is no risk to cremator operation (e.g. no retained battery-operated device) and no other bar to cremation.

• Removal of pacemaker devices if no mortician is available. 

• Raise any concerns or irregularities with Bare's Operations team promptly, referring to the Coroner where required

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation for each case

• Current, unconditional AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner

• Eligible to act as an "independent doctor" under the Cremations Act 2003 (i.e. not the doctor who issued the original cause of death certificate for that case, and not a close relative of the deceased)

• Comfortable conducting external examinations of deceased persons

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working around bereaved families and funeral operations

• Based in Brisbane 

• Type: Independent contractor (ABN required)

• Location: Bare Operations site, Brisbane

• Volume: Approximately 10 deceased per week

• Time per case: Approximately 10 minutes

• Rate: $85 AUD per deceased examined and certified

• Hours: Flexible — attendance times arranged directly with Bare's Operations team; no fixed roster
