About this Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and making a tangible impact on workplace safety and wellbeing. We are seeking a proactive and passionate Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join our Safety, Health, Environment & Quality team.
Reporting to the Principal WHS Advisor, you will provide operational WHS support across RFDS SA/NT, partnering with leaders and employees to foster a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices across diverse and geographically dispersed operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing practical WHS advice and support to operational teams across metropolitan, regional and remote locations.
Assisting with hazard identification, risk assessments and implementation of effective control measures.
Supporting workplace inspections, audits and safety assurance activities.
Participating in incident investigations and monitoring corrective actions through to completion.
Supporting environmental compliance activities, emergency preparedness and incident response initiatives.
Assisting with the delivery of health, wellbeing and psychosocial safety programs.
Supporting injury management and return-to-work activities.
Delivering WHS training, inductions and awareness initiatives to build organisational capability.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance.
About You
You are a motivated WHS professional with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for fostering safe and healthy workplaces.
You will bring:
Experience in workplace health and safety, including hazard identification, risk assessment and incident management.
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, safety management systems and compliance requirements.
Experience supporting investigations, audits and corrective action processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
Experience supporting health, wellbeing and psychosocial safety initiatives.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on actions.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent) with relevant WHS experience.
Demonstrated experience supporting workplace health and safety activities in an operational environment.
Working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and safety management systems.
Qualifications or experience in injury management and return-to-work coordination will be highly regarded.
Experience in healthcare, aviation, emergency services, remote operations or other high-risk environments will be advantageous.
