THANNER Australia specialises in footwear solutions for high-risk feet, and complex medical conditions including diabetic, Charcot, arthritic, and amputee conditions, and is actively expanding its product range and operations across Australia. The business also offers a unique and comprehensive range of medical-grade safety workers’ boots designed for Australian conditions with an AS certification as approved PPE since end 2025.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pedorthist role based in Sydney, NSW with Regional NSW travels to various clinics. The Pedorthist will assess patients’ foot conditions, gait, and biomechanics, and recommend appropriate medical-grade, semi-orthopaedic and custom footwear solutions. Daily tasks include taking measurements, creating or modifying custom-made footwear and orthotic devices, performing fitting sessions, and making detailed adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and function. The role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals, documenting clinical findings and treatment plans, and educating patients on proper footwear use and foot care. The Pedorthist will also support product development feedback, contribute to quality assurance processes, and uphold safety and clinical standards in the clinics and workshops. QualificationsFormal qualification in pedorthics with eligibility for relevant professional registration or membership.Clinical skills in foot assessment, gait analysis, and management of complex foot conditions such as diabetes, Charcot foot, arthritis, and post-amputation needs.Technical skills in footwear modification, custom-made shoe construction, orthotic design, and use of hand tools and workshop equipment in a safe manner.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, including clear documentation and patient education.Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to translate clinical requirements into precise footwear and orthotic solutions tailored to individual needs.Ability to work effectively in an on-site clinical and workshop environment, manage caseloads, and collaborate in a small, growing team.2-3 years' experience with high-risk foot care, medical-grade footwear, or orthopaedic footwear manufacturing is highly desirable.Basic computer skills for record-keeping, scheduling, and reporting; willingness to learn company systems and processes.
