Avant Law is seeking a Paralegal to join our Perth team on a 12-month contract, working 0.6 FTE.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced legal administrator or paralegal to work alongside specialist medico-legal solicitors and gain exposure to a diverse range of medical indemnity matters.

Working closely with our Perth legal team, you will provide high-quality paralegal and administrative support to our solicitors and contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of Avant Law.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting solicitors with the management of legal matters and the effective functioning of the Legal team.
• Preparing and formatting legal documentation, including briefs and correspondence.
• Assisting with court and tribunal filings and liaising with witnesses, experts, court and tribunal staff.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date legal files.
• Assisting with the processing of invoices for professional legal services.
• Coordinating meetings, appointments and travel arrangements.
• Processing accounts payable invoices, monthly billings and Mastercard reconciliations.
• Providing general administrative support to the Perth legal team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a paralegal or administrative role within a legal environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Fast and accurate typing skills, including experience with digital dictation.
• Experience drafting and formatting legal documentation.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience preparing, maintaining and managing legal files.
