About the role:
We're excited to offer an outstanding opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Manager in our Specialist Clinic team at Dandenong Hospital. This is a full-time, fixed-term parental leave cover position (until October 2027) which allows you to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the NM will provide clinical leadership and operational management of the Specialist Clinics and will be responsible for delivering safe, quality clinical patient care standards and ensuring that patients receive exceptional care.
The role is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the clinics ensuring timely patient access to care, the effective utilisation of financial resources and fostering of a safe working environment for staff.
With proven people management skills, the NM will lead by example and inspire their team to perform at their best whilst working collaboratively with all key stakeholders.
You will be driving process improvements and balancing the current demands for service and timeliness of care, with opportunities for growth and expansion.
About Us:
Dandenong Specialist Consulting Clinic is a busy service specialising in the provision of outpatient care across many specialties including Orthopaedics, Plastics, Colorectal, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Infectious diseases, Paediatrics, Oral facial and maxillary, general medicine, Dermatology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Renal Failure.
About You:
As an accomplished nursing leader, you have a genuine passion and a proven track record of clinical leadership. You are a high achiever with a proven ability to deliver successful outcomes across service delivery, resource management, and professional and technical competence areas.
You communicate effectively and are able to build rapport and engage with others at all levels to deliver outcomes in a timely manner. This position requires a dynamic individual with excellent nursing and leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in the delivery of clinical excellence in a professional manner.
Demonstrated experience in managing a multidisciplinary team, excellent communication skills and the ability to strategically plan will be essential to your success in this position. You thrive working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering exceptional care and outstanding outcomes for those in our community.
You are also:
· committed to a leadership and mentoring role
· demonstrated management and clinical leadership experience, ideally in a similar role
· proven time management, superior communication and influencing skills
· critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
· a commitment to proactively support colleagues at all levels as well as mentor a team
· Specialist Consulting experience is highly desirable
What you need:
· Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
· Demonstrated Acute clinical nursing experience
· Proven experience leading and managing a team within a Hospital setting
· Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Successful leadership of continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to National Standards
· Computer technical competency working with electronic patient/medical records
· Ability to support the team with changes and training when required
