We are seeking a Business Manager to lead our product management function, drive business growth, and strengthen our position in the market.

This is your chance to work with industry-leading vendors, lead a talented team, and influence the direction of a growing product portfolio. The role offers flexibility to be based at one of our key IPD locations, including Wetherill Park (NSW), Brisbane (QLD), or Noble Park (VIC).

About the role:

As the Business Manager, you will lead the Automation & Motor Control portfolio, driving business growth, strengthening vendor partnerships, and delivering outstanding commercial results.

• Leading the Automation & Motor Control product portfolio to achieve growth, budget, and performance targets. 
• Developing and implementing product and marketing strategies that drive business success. 
• Building strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers to maximise commercial opportunities. 
• Maintaining market and technical expertise across products, industry trends, and competitor activity. 
• Collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, and Pre-Sales teams to support customer and business outcomes. 
• Managing inventory performance and identifying new product opportunities aligned with business strategy. 
• Delivering product training and sharing technical knowledge across the business. 
• Coaching and developing team members to build a high-performing and collaborative culture. 
• Monitoring sales, margins, KPIs, and profitability to drive business performance. 
• Ensuring compliance with company safety, quality, and professional standards.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong leadership capability.

• Qualifications in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Trade Qualified Electrician. 
• Marketing qualifications or demonstrated experience developing and executing product marketing strategies.
• Proven leadership experience managing product management, channel management, or similar commercial teams. 
• Previous experience within the Automation & Motor Control products.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing sales performance, margins, budgets, and KPIs. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. 
• Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications. 
• Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills. 
• Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams. 
• Highly collaborative approach with a focus on achieving shared business outcomes. 
• Willingness to travel as required.
