CatholicCare Tasmania is seeking an experienced and passionate Practice Lead to join our Housing Connect team in Southern Tasmania.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly skilled practitioner who is passionate about strengthening professional practice, building workforce capability, and improving outcomes for individuals, families and communities experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage.

As a recognised practice expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality, evidence-informed and person-centred service delivery for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Housing and Homelessness, the Practice Lead provides specialist practice leadership, quality assurance and workforce development across Housing Connect Individualised support services throughout the Southern region. The role delivers leadership through expertise, influence, coaching and collaboration rather than direct line management responsibility.

You will:

• Lead and promote evidence-informed, trauma-informed and culturally safe practice.
• Provide specialist consultation and support for complex client situations and practice challenges.
• Strengthen workforce capability through coaching, mentoring, reflective practice and professional development.
• Drive quality improvement, innovation and service development initiatives.
• Support practice governance, safeguarding, risk management and continuous improvement activities.
• Build strong partnerships with internal teams, community organisations and sector stakeholders.
• Contribute to organisational and sector learning, practice development and sector leadership.

About You

You are an experienced senior practitioner, consultant, supervisor or practice leader who combines professional expertise with a collaborative and strengths-based leadership style.

To be successful, you will bring:

• Significant experience in community services, housing and homelessness, family support, mental health, youth services, disability, or related human services sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-informed practice, practice governance and quality assurance.
• Experience supporting teams across the Homelessness and Housing sectors through coaching, mentoring, practice supervision and workforce development.
• Strong capability in responding to complex client needs, risk assessment, ethical decision-making and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Experience using data, research and evaluation to improve practice and service outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, allied health, community services or a related discipline.
