We’re now looking for a passionate and driven full time (38hrs per week) Retail Manager to join our family and help lead our Southport restaurant in continuing the tradition of excellence.

Job Description

Position Overview

As the Retail Manager at The Yiros Shop, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, including staffing, stock, sales, customer service, financial and compliance functions. You’ll be responsible for managing the retail and hospitality aspects of the business, including leading a dynamic team, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high food standards and driving operational excellence. You’ll also work closely with the Assistant Restaurant Manager, collaborating to achieve sales targets, uphold food safety standards and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring efficient service, well-maintained stock levels, and coordinate purchasing with suppliers
• Lead, train, and motivate a young and energetic team to deliver outstanding customer service
• Drive sales and achieve targets through effective upselling, promotional activities and local area marketing
• Handle customer feedback professionally, ensuring a consistently positive guest experience
• Manage inventory control, ordering, and waste minimisation to meet business needs
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
• Manage labour through rosters, staff onboarding, cash handling, and administrative duties, including opening and closing procedures
• Monitor team performance to ensure profitability through ongoing training, development, and achievement of KPIs
• Monitor and maintain financial records, including daily sales, cash reconciliation and operating expenses
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and monitoring of the restaurant's financial performance
• Implement and maintain SOPs across food safety, service standards and administrative processes

The Right Candidate Must Have:

• Proven experience in managing a team in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
• Ability to motivate, lead, and develop a young, vibrant team, while setting and achieving goals.
• Passion for providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable experience for each guest.
• A strong understanding of food safety regulations, with the ability to enforce them in daily operations.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with change and able to quickly adapt to new challenges as the business grows.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and restaurant operations.
• Proven experience in training and developing staff to enhance team performance.
• A friendly, approachable attitude and a collaborative approach to working with a diverse team.
• A genuine passion for the fast-food industry, Greek cuisine, and delivering an outstanding customer experience

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Hospitality Manager, Retail Management or a related field, or similar role
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with rostering, inventory management, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in retail or hospitality management software, and MS Office
• A love for Greek food and an energetic, team-focused approach to work

Mandatory Requirements

• I'm Alert Food Safety Course - FREE online (free online, must be completed before starting)
• Valid working rights in Australia (passport and visa grant letter for international workers)
• RSA Certificate to be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment
