Workshop supervisor - Diesel Mechanic- Villawood

Booth Transport is a National Transport Company that has a newly created position of Workshop supervisor at our Villawood Workshop.

In your new position you will be reporting to the Workshop Manager, and as the Workshop supervisor you will help ensure the fleet is maintained to a high standard, our team of diesel mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers and equipment in our general freight and tanker fleet.  

 The primary duties of the role will include.
 

• Scheduling and coordinating services and repairs

• Communicate with other departments and stake holders within the business in a positive and constructive manner  

• Manage and maintain stock levels

• Assist with the development of apprentices and tradesman when required  

• Assist with the develop and implementation of procedures and processes when required   

• Ensuring all the staff members are completing work in a safe and efficient manner in line with company standards.

• Ensure that there is accurate housekeeping and completion of all paperwork and systems associated with fleet maintenance and repair

• Ensure that health and safety of all staff members is a high priority at all times 

• Rostered on to support breakdown phone calls
   

The candidate we are looking for will have:
 

• Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic 

• Experience in transport.

• Experience with Kenworth, Cummins & trailers

• Proven competence as a Workshop Supervisor

• MC Licence (not required, but preferred)

• Sound computer skills

• Ability to lead, demonstrate and educate employees to embrace a safe & productive work environment.

• Good problem solving and planning skills
