About the Role
We are a leading manufacturing facility, that partners with well-known brands to deliver high quality products in a fast paced environment. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanical Fitter to support the reliability and performance of our production lines. This hands-on role operates within a dynamic manufacturing setting, offering the opportunity to work both autonomously and collaboratively with cross-functional teams while contributing to continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Support the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and production lines
Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical equipment
Repair and replace machine components including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and packaging equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime
Complete maintenance tasks and record work in the CMMS system
Complete line changeovers
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability
Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, GMP, and HACCP standards
Assist with ordering parts and maintaining critical spares
Communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams
Provide after-hours/on-call support as required
About You
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or other similar trade
Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
Experience in the beverage industry is highly regarded
Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and within a team
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
Forklift licence and EWP (highly advantageous) or willingness to obtain
Stainless Steel Tig Welding (highly desirable)
Additional Information
This role is 5 days per week onsite in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs
Due to limited public transport access, an own vehicle is preferred
