About the role

Dom's Garage is seeking a talented 3rd or 4th year Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Browns Plains, QLD. This is a full-time position that offers you the opportunity to develop your automotive trade skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. As you progress through the final stages of your apprenticeship, you will take on greater responsibility and independence, preparing you for a successful career in the automotive industry. This role is essential to our operations as you will contribute directly to delivering high-quality vehicle servicing and repairs to our valued customers.

What you'll be doing

• Performing scheduled vehicle maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and inspections

• Diagnosing vehicle faults using workshop equipment and hand tools under supervision

• Conducting repairs to engines, transmissions, suspension, braking systems and electrical components

• Assisting with wheel alignments, tyre changes and balancing

• Preparing work areas and organising tools and equipment efficiently

• Documenting repair work and maintaining accurate service records

• Following all workplace health and safety procedures and protocols

• Supporting senior technicians and mechanics on complex repair projects

• Communicating with customers regarding vehicle condition and repair progress

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a 3rd or 4th year of an automotive apprenticeship programme

• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Competency with automotive diagnostic and repair tools and equipment

• Sound understanding of automotive systems and repair procedures

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation

• Reliability, punctuality and a professional work ethic

• Willingness to continue learning and developing your skills
