The Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is looking for a Training and Event Support Officer to support the smooth operations of DVCS training and community engagement events, including the delivery of Risk Assessment and Management Framework Training to government and non-government participants.

DVCS is a non-government, not-for-profit specialist domestic and family violence service that seeks to reduce violence and abuse in relationships. DVCS provides crisis and long-term support services to help break the domestic and family violence cycle. DVCS is here to support people, both during and after crisis situations as well as support programs for those who use violence, with the aim of bringing about change.

The Training and Events Support Officer role includes:
Manage room bookings, catering, AV requirements, setup, and cleanup for training and other community engagement events;
Manage registrations, participant queries, post-training evaluations and other logistics to support the delivery of DVCS training and community engagement events;
Communicate with stakeholders and community members about DVCS training and events, including through email and social media platforms;
Ensure events are accessible, and individual participant’s accessibility needs are considered and responded to appropriately;
Support DFV Risk Assessment Training Coordinator in the development and preparation of resources for training delivery;
Answer and respond appropriately to incoming inquiries by phone calls and emails related to training and events;

Relevant experience in supporting the smooth delivery of training and events
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to liaise with a wide variety of people
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative
Able to prioritise competing tasks and ensure deadlines are met and expectations managed when issues arise
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business
Good working knowledge of IT systems and the Microsoft Suite, with the ability to learn and adopt new technologies where appropriate
Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and social justice issues, or a willingness to gain such knowledge
A demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, inclusion and diversity
