PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing and administration for Hazeldene’s workforce. This role maintains meticulous payroll records, supports employee queries, and ensures adherence to legislative, taxation, and company requirements. By leveraging the Dayforce and fostering collaboration with finance and operational teams, the Payroll Administrator contributes to Hazeldene’s commitment to operational efficiency, financial integrity, and employee satisfaction.
This is 1 year Fixed-Term Role.
Job Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
Process weekly, fortnightly, payrolls accurately and on time, ensuring correct calculation of wages, allowances, overtime, and deductions using the Dayforce system.
Verify timesheet data, leave requests, and other payroll inputs from supervisors and managers to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Calculate and process employee payments, including termination payments, bonuses, and adjustments, in compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality within the Dayforce.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure payroll processes comply with Australian taxation laws, superannuation obligations, Fair Work regulations, and other relevant legislation.
Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports.
Employee & Stakeholder Support
Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries, addressing employee concerns regarding wages, deductions, leave balances, and payslips promptly and professionally.
Onboard new employees into the payroll system, creating and maintaining employee files with accurate personal and payment details.
Liaise with supervisors, HR, and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure seamless communication across departments.
Process Improvement & Systems Management
Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency within the Dayforce.
Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation, tax rates, and compliance requirements, applying updates to payroll processes as needed.
Leave & Benefits Administration
Administer salary sacrifice arrangements, novated leases, and other employee benefits in line with company policies and legislative guidelines.
Calculate and process leave entitlements for terminating employees, ensuring compliance with Fair Work and company standards.
Risk Management & Safety
Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll data, adhering to privacy laws and company policies to protect employee information.
Support a positive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) culture by adhering to safety protocols and reporting incidents or hazards as per company procedures.
