Job Description :

The metering and billing team provides application monitoring and support for an electricity distributor based in Melbourne, Australia.

As an AMI metering consultant, you will work with the metering and billing team and the business users, to ensure that our customer complies with all NEM regulations. A typical day in the life of an AMI consultant includes application monitoring, incident management, responding to business queries, ensuring market compliance obligations related to meter data delivery and market-related transactions, continuous service improvements, and so on. This role also allows you to explore your options for contributing to various regulatory and non-regulatory projects that will help our customers in achieving their digital strategy vision.

What Youll Deliver

• Work closely with business SMEs to document business requirements and provide clarifications for all their questions.
• Assist the team in investigating and resolving incidents/problems/major incidents/service requests ranging from simple to highly complex in nature.
• Assist the team to Investigate, analyze, and resolve all outstanding data configuration issues, billing exceptions, and meter data, and ensure data integrity.
• Assist the team with application monitoring, overnight batch processing, monthly billing, standing data configurations, market transaction processing, and other tasks.
• Assist the team to ensure compliance with NEM rules for all market-related transactions, such as meter data delivered to the market, meter data quality, and so on.
• Contribute to the team by documenting standard operating procedures, system maintenance technical documentation, and so on.
• Assist the team in implementing continuous improvements in all areas to improve metering application efficiency and reliability.
• Assist the team in interacting with third-party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex product-related issues.
• Supporting business and IT experts during external audit activities.
• Involve in the regulatory and non-regulatory projects to support the team to achieve its goals by:

• Creating functional specifications, technical specifications, business process documentation, and design documentation based on the business requirements gathered.
• Coding, unit testing, Integration testing, code reviews, preparing release documents for deployments, and UAT Support for the implemented changes.

To Help Us Level Up, You'll Ideally Have

• Should have more than 7-15 years of working experience in utility and electricity industry.
• Should be proficient in utility business processes for metering and billing applications.
• Understanding of Australian electricity market rules
• Strong hands-on experience in UIQ application
• Should have experience in supporting day-to-day activities of meter-to-market/cash value chain business processes.
• Understanding of meter data collection, meter data management, and billing processes.
• Should have overall understanding of Smart metering solutions, communication techniques, firmware upgrades, meter reprogramming, network tariffs, Gen 5 NIC\AP\Micro APs meter testing, SIQ Upgrade, lab meter configurations, etc.
• Should have experience of working as a developer or consultant in regulatory projects such as 5MS & GS, life support, applications upgrades, database upgrades, data center migrations, cloud migration, etc.
• Should have hands-on experience in PL\SQL
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Strong business stakeholder and engagement skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Should be able to convert business requirements into business and technical designs.
• Working knowledge of Functional testing, System testing, Integration testing, and Regression Testing of end-to-end meter-to-market/cash value chain test scenarios
• Good experience in using Test Management tools like - JIRA etc.
