What you’ll do

• Service, maintain and repair marine diesel engines across a range of vessels and engine brands

• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine faults, including mechanical, fuel, cooling and electrical issues

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on marine diesel engines and associated systems

• Assist with and carry out engine removals, installations, repowers and commissioning

• Perform engine strip-downs, repairs and complete rebuilds/overhauls

• Inspect, repair and maintain associated marine systems including fuel, cooling, exhaust, steering and driveline systems

• Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals and electrical schematics to accurately identify faults

• Carry out sea trials and post-repair testing to ensure work is completed to a high standard

• Work both in our workshop and on vessels throughout the Gold Coast and surrounding areas

• For qualified tradespeople, manage jobs independently, communicate with customers and assist in mentoring apprentices

• For apprentices, work alongside our experienced marine mechanics while continuing to develop your marine diesel diagnostic and repair skills

• Carry out shaft, propeller and running gear inspections, repairs and maintenance, including fault finding and alignment where required

• (Nice to have) Basic fabrication/welding/machining

What you’ll bring

• Qualified Marine Diesel Mechanic/Engineer (similar heavy‑diesel considered)

• Proven experience servicing and repairing marine diesel engines

• Strong electrical understanding on diesel engine systems

• Excellent communication; fluent, clear English

• Reliable, honest, and proud of delivering quality workmanship

• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team

• Current driver’s licence and full Australian work rights

Nice to have (not essential)

• Boat licence and/or White Card

• Certs/tickets relevant to marine service work
