Principal Engineering and Delivery

Lead engineering execution, product delivery and technical innovation in a growing organisation at the forefront of biometrics, digital identity and cybersecurity. 

This is a hands-on leadership role for an accomplished technology leader who combines engineering depth, delivery discipline and commercial judgement. You will lead a small talented technical team while remaining actively involved in architecture, software development, complex problem solving and strategic client engagements.

What you will do 

• Lead engineering, product delivery and technical consulting across BixeLab, Biometix and related entities. 
• Deliver high-quality software, platforms and client solutions from concept through to release. 
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, development, DevSecOps, cloud, APIs, data systems and automated testing. 
• Build team capability through clear priorities, coaching, accountability and continuous improvement. 
• Manage delivery commitments, budgets, resources, risks and commercial outcomes. 
• Support client engagements through discovery, solution design, proposals and executive presentations. 
• Establish engineering practices that improve quality, scalability, security and delivery efficiency. 

What you bring 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, engineering or a related discipline. 
• 12+ years’ experience in technology, including leadership responsibility in a product, consulting, laboratory or technology services environment. 
• Recent hands-on software engineering experience with the ability to demonstrate solutions you have personally designed, built or delivered. 
• Proven success leading small technical teams to deliver under real commercial and time constraints. 
• Strong experience in project delivery, estimation, resource planning and budget management. 
• Excellent client-facing consulting and executive communication skills. 
• Deep capability across modern software engineering, architecture, cloud platforms, security, data systems and automated testing. 

Highly regarded 

• Experience in biometrics, digital identity, cybersecurity, AI/ML, testing, assurance or regulated technology environments. 
• Knowledge of identity assurance standards, including ISO/IEC biometric standards, NIST guidance, FIDO or MOSIP. 
• Experience delivering complex identity or biometric systems. 
• Postgraduate qualifications in technology, engineering, cybersecurity or AI.
