Encircle Community Services is seeking a dedicated and engaging Young Fathers Support Practitioner to join our Young Parents Program on a full-time, 6-month contract.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly with young and expectant fathers, helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities of pregnancy, parenting, relationships, and family life. You'll play a key role in supporting young dads to build skills, resilience, confidence, and meaningful connections with their children and support networks.

About the RoleWorking within our Young Parents Program, you will provide strengths-based and trauma-informed support to young fathers and expectant dads who may be experiencing a range of challenges, including social isolation, financial stress, family relationship issues, housing instability, mental health concerns, or limited support networks.
You will build positive relationships with young dads, support their engagement in services, assist them to develop parenting knowledge and skills, connect them with community supports, and facilitate opportunities for participation and peer connection.
This role includes a combination of:
Individual support and case management
Outreach support in the community
Parenting education and skill development
Advocacy and referral
Facilitating and co-facilitating groups and activities for young fathers
Supporting positive father-child attachment and family wellbeing
We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting young fathers and families
Skilled at building rapport and engaging hard-to-reach clients
Strengths-focused and solution-oriented
A confident communicator and advocate
Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
A qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Science or a related field.
Experience working with young people, families or vulnerable communities.
Experience providing case management or family support services.
Knowledge of strengths-based and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
An understanding of child development, parenting supports and family wellbeing.
Experience facilitating groups or community-based activities is highly regarded.
Commitment to working respectfully with First Nations peoples and culturally diverse communities.
Current Queensland Driver Licence.
Current Blue Card.
National Police Check.
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
