About the College
Located on a beautiful 136-acre property in the Yarra Valley, 60 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD, Worawa Aboriginal College is an Aboriginal community initiative and Australia’s only registered Independent Aboriginal Boarding School for girls.
Worawa provides education and boarding for Aboriginal girls in Years 7–12 from communities across Australia, supporting young Aboriginal women to leave the College confident in who they are, where they want to go and what they can contribute to their communities and the wider world.
At the heart of Worawa is a strong commitment to Aboriginal culture, identity and self-determination, with knowledge and respect for Aboriginal cultural beliefs, values and practices embedded in the College ethos. This position requires the incumbent to embrace the Worawa ethos of Aboriginal values, Aboriginal-led decision making and the right to Aboriginal self-determination.
About the Role
We are seeking an accomplished and highly organised Executive Officer to work closely with our Executive Director/Principal and Board and lead the effective coordination of the Executive Office.
This is a varied and influential role for someone who enjoys working across an organisation, bringing structure to complexity and ensuring important priorities move from discussion to action.
You will be at the centre of governance, strategic projects, organisational reporting and executive coordination – connecting people and information, keeping key commitments on track and supporting effective decision-making across the College.

About You
As an Aboriginal-led College, Worawa is committed to strengthening Aboriginal representation within its workforce and particularly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply.
You may already be an Executive Officer, Governance Officer, Board Secretariat professional or senior Executive Assistant ready to step into a broader role.
What matters most is that you are highly organised, proactive and an exceptional communicator who can see the bigger picture while keeping a firm eye on the detail.
You will bring:
Qualifications in governance, business administration, public administration, project management or a related field will be highly regarded, along with relevant experience in education, community services or Aboriginal organisations.
