Global Engineering Manager

As we continue to grow globally, we’re looking for an experienced Global Engineering Manager to lead and evolve our engineering function across Australia and the USA.

This is not just a technical engineering role. We’re looking for a strong people leader who can get the best from talented engineers, build high performing teams and create the systems, processes and standards that enable engineering excellence.

The opportunity

Reporting to the GM Engineering and Product, you’ll lead our global engineering function across Research, Product Development, Operational Engineering Support, Engineering Systems and Intellectual Property.

You’ll provide the leadership, structure and direction that allows our engineering teams to do their best work while ensuring Engineering is connected to our customers, our commercial priorities and the broader business.

Your focus will be across three key areas:

People & Engineering Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop a high performing team, creating clear ownership, accountability and opportunities for people to grow.
• Strengthen collaboration between Engineering, Product, Operations and our customers.
• Foster a culture of performance, innovation, continuous improvement and shared success.
• Bring customer, market and competitor insights into engineering priorities and decision making.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical direction and oversight across all Engineering functions
• Guide delivery of the R&D roadmap and continuous improvement of our existing product portfolio.
• Ensure engineering solutions are robust and commercially relevant.
• Support the day to day management and development of BreatheSafe’s IP portfolio.

Systems, Processes & Standards

• Build and mature the engineering systems, processes and governance required for a growing global business.
• Establish consistent, repeatable ways of working across engineering teams and regions.
• Drive continuous improvement in how engineering work is prioritised, managed, delivered and measured.

About you

You’re an experienced engineering leader who is as passionate about people and performance as you are about great engineering.

You’ll bring:

• 10+ years engineering experience
• 5+ years people leadership experience
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology or mining services
• Experience implementing engineering systems and governance
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Strong people leadership, coaching and performance management capability.
• Experience leading product development.
• Strong commercial, customer and cross-functional orientation.
• An understanding of intellectual property in a product development environment.
• The technical credibility to guide and challenge engineers without needing to personally own every technical solution.
