Pius X Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an Aboriginal Support Worker to join our HEY Team. This is an Identified Aboriginal Position, open only to Aboriginal applicants under Section 14D of the Anti‑Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
If you’re passionate about supporting young people, families, and community through culturally safe, strengths‑based engagement, this role offers the chance to create meaningful change every day.
As a HEY Team Support Worker, you will walk alongside young people and families to provide culturally safe support, advocacy, outreach, and practical assistance. You will help clients navigate services, strengthen wellbeing, and stay connected to education, health, housing, and community supports.
You will work as part of a collaborative, culturally grounded team committed to empowering Aboriginal young people and strengthening community resilience.
Provide culturally safe, respectful, client‑centred support to young people and families.
Assist with intake, assessment, referrals, advocacy, follow‑up, and case support activities.
Deliver outreach and engagement across Moree and surrounding communities.
Support young people to access education, health, housing, and wellbeing services.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow organisational policies and safety protocols.
Work collaboratively with the HEY Team, partner agencies, schools, youth services, and community organisations.
Uphold cultural safety, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and trauma‑informed practice.
Aboriginality (Identified Position – Section 14D exemption applies).
Strong cultural knowledge, community connection, and respect for local protocols.
Experience supporting young people, families, or community in a culturally safe way.
Ability to engage respectfully, build trust, and communicate clearly.
Reliability, organisation, and a steady, supportive approach.
Willingness to participate in cultural supervision, training, and team development.
Current Driver’s Licence, WWCC, Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
