Full Time Bricklayer

About the role

JT’S brick and blocklanying is seeking a Full Time Bricklayer to join our team in Wagga Wagga NSW. This is a permanent full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of building projects, from residential to commercial construction. As a Bricklayer, you will play a crucial role in constructing and maintaining brick, stone, and block structures that form the foundation of quality buildings across the region. Your expertise and craftsmanship will directly contribute to the successful completion of projects and the reputation of our company.

What you'll be doing

1. Laying bricks, concrete blocks, and stone to construct or repair walls, arches, and other structures according to architectural plans and specifications

2. Mixing and applying mortar and other bonding agents to create strong, durable joints between materials

3. Measuring, cutting, and shaping bricks and blocks to fit specific requirements and ensure precise alignment

4. Operating and maintaining bricklaying tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner

5. Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements and specifications

6. Ensuring all work meets relevant building codes, standards, and quality requirements

7. Collaborating with other tradespeople and team members to coordinate work schedules and site activities

8. Preparing and maintaining work areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and organisation

9. Performing regular inspections of completed work to identify and address any defects or issues

What we're looking for

1. Current or recognised bricklaying qualifications or equivalent industry experience

2. Proven experience working as a Bricklayer in residential, commercial, or mixed-use construction projects

3. Strong knowledge of mortar mixes, bonding techniques, and bricklaying methods

4. Proficiency with traditional and modern bricklaying tools and equipment

5. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and building plans

6. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship

7. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

8. Strong safety awareness and commitment to following workplace health and safety practices

9. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team

10. Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues
