Boilermaker

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Boilermaker role based in Dandenong, VIC. The Boilermaker will fabricate, assemble, and mig weld steel structures and components to industrial and defence specifications, using a variety of welding and cutting processes. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting engineering drawings, setting up and operating fabrication equipment, and performing quality checks to meet safety and compliance standards. The role involves working closely with production teams to meet project deadlines, maintaining tools and machinery, and following workplace health and safety procedures. The Boilermaker may also assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support other fabrication activities as required.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong metal fabrication skills, including experience with structural steel fabrication and assembly.Candidates should possess welding skills such as Welding and TIG Welding, with the ability to produce high-quality welds to industry standards.Candidates should possess proficiency in Oxy-acetylene cutting and related thermal cutting processes for plate and structural sections.Candidates should possess Drawing Reading skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols.Relevant trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Certificate IV in Engineering – Fabrication or equivalent.Experience working in heavy fabrication, defence, or industrial manufacturing environments is beneficial.Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail, with the ability to work effectively in a team and meet production timelines.Willingness to comply with defence-related security and compliance requirements, where applicable.
