Panel Beater

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Panel Beater to join our team. Working in our busy collision repair workshop, you will undertake structural and cosmetic repairs to a variety of passenger vehicles while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assess damaged vehicles and determine appropriate repair methods in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Repair damaged steel, aluminium, plastic and fibreglass vehicle body components.
• Remove, repair and replace damaged body panels, doors, guards, bonnets and other vehicle components.
• Straighten vehicle frames and body structures using measuring and alignment equipment.
• Carry out panel beating, reshaping and metal finishing using hand tools, power tools and specialised workshop equipment.
• Weld, fit and align replacement panels and components to restore vehicle integrity and appearance.
• Prepare repaired surfaces through filling, grinding and sanding to achieve a high-quality finish before painting.
• Reassemble vehicle body components, trims and fittings, ensuring correct alignment and operation.
• Conduct final quality inspections to ensure repairs meet company, insurer and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with workplace health and safety procedures.

About you

• Relevant qualification or recognised training in automotive body repair, panel beating or vehicle body repair.
• At least 2 years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Panel Beater or in a closely related role.
• Ability to accurately assess collision damage and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Experience using modern panel repair equipment, welding equipment and measuring systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• A positive work ethic with reliable time management skills.
