Inherent Physical Requirements of Production Positions:

• Occasional to frequent bending and stooping

• Infrequent kneeling, reaching and stretching

• Infrequent work above shoulder height

• Repetitive gripping and handling

• Occasional twisting and turning

• Standing/sitting for extended periods

• Regular lifting of weights up to 10kg

• Infrequent lifting of weights 10–17kg

• Assisted lifting of weights greater than 17kg

• Occasional pushing/pulling

• Good hand-eye coordination

• Possess high level of hand/finger dexterity

• Not be under the influence of Drugs and Alcohol

• Fitness for work: ‘Fitness for Work’ means that individuals are in a state (mentally, emotionally and physically) that enables them to perform their assigned tasks competently and, in a manner, which does not threaten the health or safety of themselves or others

• Ability to respond quickly to sounds

• Ability to wear personal protective gear most of the day

Key Responsibilities:

Normal duties for Packaging Operators performed within developed skills, training and experience:

• Following instructions given verbally and as written in documentation

• Examining and inspecting materials/products to ensure that packing specifications are being met

• Loading/unloading materials and products through packing processing equipment

• Measuring, weighing and counting materials/products

• Recording information on specified forms, records and documentation

• Cleaning containers, equipment and work areas using cleaning solutions and hand tools

• Conducting sampling of materials/products in line with company procedures

• Ensuring that the quality of work performed meets material/product quality objectives

• Operating packaging equipment and performing machine setting tasks

• Complying with requirements under GMP and GDP at all times

• Participating in Training

• Reporting an Injury/Incident/Hazard or near miss immediately

• Observing safe work practices so as not to endanger themselves or others

• Performing other tasks as required by area Supervisor/Manager
