About the opportunity

Our Finance division provides critical financial management, information, and strategic solutions that support the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group in delivering on our strategy and serving our customers' needs.

As the Senior Financial Analyst - Performance Measurement, you will join our Performance Measurement & Modelling team. This team is responsible for providing internal and external stakeholders with high-level financial and strategic analysis, advice, insights, and solutions to ensure the business makes well-informed, data-backed decisions.

In this role you’ll get to…

• Partner with senior finance leaders: Act as a key contact for Finance Business Partners, General Managers, and the Head of Group Performance Management, making complex financial outcomes easy to understand and building trust across the business. 
• Help shape group targets and forecasts: Work closely with the team during budgeting and forecasting cycles. You will supply the essential management information—like Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), margin share, and cost/revenue allocations—needed to keep our forecasts highly accurate. 
• Refine how we measure performance: Dive deep into our core frameworks. You will analyse and help improve how we handle FTP, cost allocations, relationship reporting, Return on Equity (ROE), and Profit After Capital Charge (PACC). 
• Contribute to the monthly Finance Executive and Board Report: Aid with the preparation of our monthly board report for NII, balance sheet and ROE. Translating numbers into clear, readable commentary that explains key variances and financial trends. 
• Make our processes better: Look for ways to improve how we work. You will query systems and data warehouses to design smarter reporting processes, keep us compliant, and update key policy documents. 

What you’ll bring to the role

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Solid management accounting experience: A strong, practical understanding of FTP, risk-adjusted performance reporting, and cost/revenue allocations within the banking or financial services sector. 
• A knack for data and systems: Advanced analytical skills, with a proven ability to interrogate systems. If you have experience with SQL, VBA, Power Pivot, or Technology One, that’s a major plus. 
• A strong banking background: You understand retail and wholesale banking practices, financial controls, and how corporate budgeting and forecasting actually work. 
• Great communication skills: The ability to build genuine relationships across the Finance team and explain complex financial metrics in a way that is clear and useful to the business. 
• Relevant qualifications: A degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Maths, or another quantitative field. If you hold a CA, CPA, CFA, or FRM, is favourable. 

This is a 12 month, secondment/fixed term opportunity, located at our Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne or Bendigo Head Office locations.
