Senior Cloud Engineer

Kinetic IT is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to play a key technical role with a national delivery team, based 100% onsite with our customer in Canberra. You’ll use your Azure cloud expertise across automation, DevOps practices, endpoint and collaboration platforms, and operational resilience to keep critical systems secure, stable and performing at their best.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Senior Engineer who enjoys solving meaningful technical problems, taking the lead in a fast-moving environment and working closely with customers and internal teams. You’ll be part of a collaborative national cloud capability where your Azure knowledge, Microsoft 365 experience, automation mindset and senior-level judgement will make a visible difference.

Keen to get involved? You’ll just need some of the following:

• Current ACTIVE government security clearance is essential
• Proven certified experience within Azure cloud environments, including core services such as Virtual Machines, App Service, Azure SQL Database and Azure Storage
• Exposure to Identity and Access Management technologies, including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, governance, environment management and premium licensing.
• Exposure across the broader Microsoft cloud ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Windows 365, Intune, Power Platform and Exchange Online
• Experience with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform), orchestration tools and automation to improve repeatability, efficiency and service reliability
• Ability to take on a senior role in maintaining complex ICT systems, including operational resilience activities such as monitoring, backups and recovery support
• Engaging with customers and internal stakeholders at various levels
• Demonstrated understanding of ITIL Framework and best practices
