Manufacturing Production Team Member

About the role

We are looking for a reliable, practical and physically capable Manufacturing Production Team Member to join our busy production team. This is a full-time position and we are seeking a long term arrangement.

It is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, can keep up in a fast-moving factory environment, and is willing to learn different tasks across production, warehousing and dispatch.

This role involves operating machinery, handling stock, assisting with orders, packing pallets, loading and unloading, and helping manufacture and finish boxes. The work regularly changes throughout the day depending on order sizes, stock movements and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

·        Operating CNC box manufacturing machines (training provided)

·        Gluing boxes and assisting with other finishing tasks

·        Loading stock for couriers and customers

·        Loading and unloading stock (forklifting as required)

·        Picking customer orders accurately

·        Packing pallets safely and efficiently

·        Unpacking sea containers, usually with palletised stock

·        Keeping work areas tidy, safe and organised

·        Liaising with the sales team to ensure desirable outcomes

Must-have requirements

We may test this criteria during the selection process

·        Physical capability for manual handling and repetitive production work

If you regularly play sport or gym train you should be OK

·        You must be an Australian resident

·        You must be computer literate

You don’t need to be a geek but you need to be able to open and close files and identify what you are looking at

·        Ability to count accurately (if you cant do basic math please don't apply)

Most of the math is each, we most often count in multiples of 6, 8, 10, 20 25 or 50

·        Ability to measure accurately

·        Current forklift licence, with genuine practical forklift competency

·        Willingness to learn, adapt and move between different tasks during the day

·        You must be an Australian resident and speak fluent English

Highly desirable attributes

·        Tall staff have a significant advantage when operating our machines

·        Experience operating a reach truck

·        Positive attitude and happy disposition

·        Good sense of humour and ability to work well with the team

·        Previous CNC machine experience

·        Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, dispatch or similar hands-on environments

·        Willingness to work with awkward and or larger products (2 man lift for anything over 20kg)

Important things to know before applying

·        This is a varied role - Customer orders, courier collections, product sizes, stock requirements and designs often change many times throughout the day.

The pace can be fast, but some days will also include repetitive or quieter tasks.

You need to be comfortable with both.

If you prefer only slow-paced work, this role is unlikely to suit you.

·        The job is physical. Upper body strength and general fitness are significant advantages.

·        The factory can get very hot in summer and cold in winter.

We manage this with appropriate hi-vis clothing, practical breaks and sensible work practices.
