About the role

This is a full-time fixed term to 30 June 2031 position based in Bega, NSW in the Katungul Women’s Healing Centre (KWHC).

After hours on call work on a rotating roster is required.

The KWHC Team Leader provides oversight of service delivery including systems, processes, facility, finances, reporting and staffing.

• Case Managers
• Support Workers
• Child & Youth Workers
• Other positions as developed 

The KWHC works alongside women and children to strengthen safety, stability, healing and wellbeing while supporting each woman’s right to exercise choice, control and self-determination in decisions affecting her life. 

The work is strengths-based and focused on building individual and family capacity, recognising the existing knowledge, strengths, cultural connections and aspirations of each client. Rather than determining outcomes for clients, we support women to identify what meaningful change looks like for them and to develop practical pathways towards goals designed by them, for them.

Recognising children as clients in their own right, we work with women and children to develop and implement individualised case plans that respond to their unique needs, strengths, culture, circumstances and goals. 

What you'll be doing

• Provide leadership and oversee KWHC staff to ensure the provision of consistent and high-quality services.
• Ensure staff comply with Katungul policies and procedures.
• Model collaboration and teamwork to promote team effectiveness.
• Provide appropriate supervision and performance development of staff.
• Adopt early intervention practices to minimise disputes and respond to complaints and incidents.
• Ensure staff maintain accurate case notes and records.
• Induction of new staff, contractors, and volunteers.
• Advocate on behalf of clients with other agencies to ensure access to and delivery of effective services.
• Engage in reflective practice and meaningfully participate in regular operational supervision, clinical supervision, cultural supervision and training.
• Develop and oversee rostering requirements.
• Commit to ongoing professional development for the team.
• Fulfil reporting requirements.
• Participate in working towards or maintaining Australian Service Excellence Standards (ASES) accreditation.
• Provide referral, case management and follow up services to Aboriginal women and their children who have experienced domestic and family violence.

What we're looking for

• Graduate certificate in human services or similar welfare training
• Degree Social Work / Welfare or similar
• Diploma in leadership and management
• Demonstrated significant experience working with survivors of domestic and family violence or similar.
• Supervisory and leadership experience with a proven ability to lead teams to achieve service goals and tasks.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve client experience and service outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural safety including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Proven ability to maintain and support trauma-informed work practices.
• Proven ability to plan, implement and review services.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence.
• Sound knowledge and experience in the use of information and communication technology including Microsoft word, email and internet applications and databases to manage client records.

• Remuneration: $58.37/hr - $60.95/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging + appropriate SCHC&DSI Award allowances.
