About the role
The Facility Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the planning and installation of all maintenance and repairs projects, with a solid understanding of plumbing, electrical and carpentry systems along with general overall trade knowledge. The role will also be responsible for creating and managing long-term, trusting relationships with assigned clients, developing new business from existing clients and actively seeking new sales opportunities.
Key responsibilities
Plan, develop and oversee all maintenance and repair procedures and ensure implementation/installation
Design and implement programs for effective maintenance operations
Hire and train maintenance employees and subcontractors to carry out specialized duties as required
Manage relationships and allocate workload with all casual staff, subcontractors and service providers
Perform regular periodic maintenance and routine calibration of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Manage the process of disposal of worn-out/damaged machinery as well as the installation of new equipment
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary to ensure availability of required resources
Maintain accurate records of maintenance operations and provide reports to senior management of all activities
Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
Ensure adherence to health/safety procedures and policies at all sites and jobs in accordance with NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance and facility management role
Working knowledge of Microsoft Computer packages
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems
People management and leadership skills to direct and coordinate the activities of a maintenance team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for dealing with different types of clients
Problem-solving skills for resolving customer complaints and needs
Unrestricted NSW Drivers' License
Working with Children's Check
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
