About the role:

Seymour College is seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood teacher to join our Early Years team as an Educational Leader (Early Years), commencing Term 1, 2027.

This is a unique leadership opportunity that combines educational leadership in a position of responsibility (POR) with classroom teaching. The successful candidate will work the equivalent of two days per week in the Educational Leader role and three days per week as a classroom teacher, sharing responsibility for teaching and learning within our Early Years program while supporting the ongoing development of high-quality early childhood practice across the centre.

Reporting to the Head of Early Years, the Educational Leader plays a pivotal role in promoting positive outcomes for children and families through pedagogical leadership, coaching and mentoring. The role focuses on strengthening educator capability, driving curriculum excellence, championing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and supporting continuous quality improvement through reflective practice and professional inquiry.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate, coach and mentor educators and provide curriculum direction and guidance
• Support educators to implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices
• Work collaboratively with the Head of Early Years to meet the compliance requirements of the Early Years Framework and the National Quality Framework and contribute to the work the centre does in planning, monitoring and implementing these
• Champion the EYLF and Reggio Emilia-inspired practice and support quality improvement and assessment including rating readiness.
• In consultation with the Head of Early Years, lead QA1 in the centre's continuous quality improvement plan, monitoring outcomes and establishing clear goals

About you:

You are an innovative and collaborative Early Childhood teaching professional who is committed to excellence in teaching and learning. You bring:

• A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) with current teacher registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
• Demonstrated experience in Early Years teaching and learning.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework Version 2 and National Quality Standards.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and leading professional practice.
• An understanding of Reggio Emilia-inspired approaches and contemporary early childhood pedagogy.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
• A genuine commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
