Assistant Broiler Farm Manager - FTC (KZN377)

Role Overview

The role is to support the Farm Manager in running daily operations across all broiler houses. We require a candidate with a hands-on approach to livestock welfare and strict biosecurity adherence.

Role Responsibilities

The role will report to the Broiler and Contract Grower Manager. Assisting with the daily management of the farms. Monitoring bird health, welfare, and performance. Maintaining high standards of biosecurity and animal welfare. Helping to manage farm staff providing guidance and support where needed. Ensuring compliance with health, safety and industry regulations. Monitor bird health, mortality rates and feed/water consumption daily. Manage ventilation, lighting and temperature controls. Enforce strict hygiene protocols to prevent disease outbreaks on site. Co-ordinate, schedule and supervise farm staff. Keep meticulous records. Implementing and maintaining 20 Keys. Able to work irregular hours, including weekends, shifts and public holidays.

Required Qualification And Knowledge

Grade 12 Agricultural Diploma or Poultry certificate is highly preferred. 2-4 years of broiler production experience. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Focus on people, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Valid Driving license Able to work under pressure A pro-active approach to problem solving and operational challenges. Adaptable to changing environments. Must have a passion for people and animals. Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook). Good Health and sober habits. A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
