About the role

Blink Hair is seeking a passionate and dedicated Hairdressing Apprentice to join our team on a full-time basis at our salon located in Walkerville, SA 5081.

This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in the hair and beauty industry whilst working alongside a large team of experienced professionals in a supportive and creative environment. As an apprentice, you will gain comprehensive practical training and theoretical knowledge, developing the technical skills and customer service expertise required to become a skilled hairdresser. This role is fundamental to your professional development and will provide you with the foundation for a rewarding career in hairdressing.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting senior stylists with shampooing, conditioning and hair treatments for clients

• Learning and practicing fundamental hairdressing techniques under supervision

• Preparing and maintaining workstations, tools and equipment to the highest hygiene and safety standards

• Greeting clients, managing appointments and providing administrative support to the salon team

• Developing product knowledge and recommending appropriate hair care products to clients

• Attending scheduled training sessions and completing theoretical coursework as part of your apprenticeship qualification

• Supporting the team during busy periods whilst maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere

• Following health, safety and workplace policies to ensure a safe salon environment for all staff and clients

What we're looking for

• A genuine passion for hairdressing, fashion and beauty with a desire to develop professional skills in the industry

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and colleagues

• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results

• Physical capability to perform hairdressing tasks including standing for extended periods and repetitive hand movements

• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards work and training

• Willingness to learn, take on feedback and adapt to new techniques and trends

• A valid driver's licence or reliable transport to access the Walkerville location is preferred

• Previous experience in hairdressing, beauty, retail, hospitality or customer service is advantageous but not essential
