General Manager - Risk Management

About The Role

SkyCity Adelaide is delivering a significant, multi-year transformation of its risk and compliance environment, spanning financial crime, gambling harm minimisation and enterprise risk. This role leads the Risk and Assurance team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the Risk Management Framework end to end - designing, embedding and continuously improving it so that it is effective, well understood and fit for a highly regulated environment. You will be a trusted advisor to the executive, bringing risk into decisions early, and maturing our Three Levels of Accountability model so that risk ownership and accountability sit where they should.

Key Responsibilities

Own and mature an enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework that withstands regulatory and Board scrutinyLead the uplift of risk practices and control effectiveness across the businessStrengthen the Three Levels of Accountability model, with clearly defined and embedded risk ownershipAdvise the Managing Director, executive and Board on the risks most material to the businessBuild a resilient, mature risk culture that is embedded in how the business operates day to dayProvide assurance over the effectiveness of the control environment

About You

Executive level experience leading risk in complex, highly regulated environments, with a track record of delivering large-scale risk transformation - not framework design aloneDeep expertise in risk frameworks, governance models and assurance practicesThe credibility and communication style to influence at Managing Director, Board and frontline levelsAble to operate both strategically and hands-on as the situation requiresRelevant tertiary qualifications and professional risk/governance certificationsExperience in gaming, financial services or another closely regulated sector is highly regardedAble to obtain and maintain the regulatory approvals and probity clearances the role requires
