The Team
The Purchasing and Procurement Team within BC Corrections is a well-established, collaborative group that supports essential operations through inclusive and thoughtful purchasing practices. In this role, you will directly report to purchasing officer and work closely with correctional officers, supervisors, management, and business office staff, valuing diverse perspectives and respectful partnerships. Together, the team’s work has a meaningful impact by ensuring resources are accessible, timely, and responsibly managed to support the organization’s mission.
The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Officer, this position manages inventory and supplies for the correctional centre. Duties include receiving, storing, loading, and unloading stock; filling supply orders; coordinating vehicle logistics for servicing, repairs, safety inspections and maintaining vehicle-related documentation and compliance records; and keeping Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) information up to date. The position follows established policies and procedures for warehousing, inventory control, and asset tracking. The Stockworker also supports purchasing activities, acts as a stores clerk, and helps purchase and maintain the supplies and materials needed for daily operations.
