We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team on a major $100M+ aviation project in Sydney, NSW.

This is a significant and technically complex construction project requiring strong coordination across design, construction, building services, subcontractors, consultants and key project stakeholders within a highly controlled operational environment.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you’ll play an integral role across design coordination, procurement, programming, technical delivery, quality and site execution, helping drive the project through key construction milestones.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with the planning, coordination and delivery of the project

• Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and site teams

• Manage design coordination and assist with the resolution of technical and constructability issues

• Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions

• Manage RFIs, technical queries, variations and project documentation

• Assist with the procurement and management of subcontractor packages

• Monitor project progress against program, budget and key milestones

• Assist with short-term programming, staging and sequencing of construction works

• Coordinate interfaces between structure, architecture, building services and site works

• Identify project risks and work collaboratively with the wider team to develop practical solutions

• Support quality assurance, inspections, ITPs and defect management

• Maintain strong communication with consultants, subcontractors, clients and internal project stakeholders

• Support testing, commissioning and project handover requirements

• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements, WHS standards, quality expectations and site-specific operational requirements

About You

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building or a related discipline

• Previous experience as a Project Engineer within commercial construction or major projects

• Experience across aviation, infrastructure, defence, transport or other complex construction environments will be highly regarded

• Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and project delivery

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation

• Experience managing subcontractor packages, RFIs, procurement and project documentation

• Strong understanding of design coordination and interfaces between structure, architecture and building services

• Ability to operate effectively within complex environments where staging, access, sequencing and stakeholder management are critical

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Confident communicator with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach
