Our Opportunity

Location: Solomon – Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth

As a Heavy-Duty Fitter within the Shutdown Team, you will support the safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities across diggers, drills and associated heavy mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Complete shutdown maintenance on diggers, drills and heavy mobile equipmentCarry out inspections, repairs and component replacementsDiagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faultsWork to shutdown schedules and maintenance plansComplete tasks safely, efficiently and to a high standardSupport breakdowns and additional maintenance activities as requiredMaintain accurate work records and communicate job progressFollow Fortescue safety, environmental and operational procedures

Qualifications And Experience

Australian-recognised trade certificate as a Heavy-Duty Fitter, Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant EquipmentExperience maintaining diggers, drills or similar heavy mobile equipmentPrevious mining or heavy industry experienceStrong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skillsShutdown maintenance experience is highly regardedAbility to work safely in a fast-paced team environmentStrong communication and problem-solving skillsCurrent Australian working rights and relevant site qualifications
