Job Description:
As a Disability Support Worker at MDSS, you will play a key role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. You will be responsible for:
Providing day-to-day care for participants, including:
Available for shift work - including sleepovers, weekends early mornings and evenings
Personal care whilst ensuring privacy and personal choices are upheld
Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, household tasks and hygiene
Support individuals in accessing the community and participating in social and recreational activities
Monitor and document individual progress and behaviour
Administering medication
Requirements:
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Cert III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent qualification - or working towards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compassionate and patient demeanour
Ability to work overnight and work weekends when rostered
Current NSW Working with Children Check.
Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain.
Current Drivers License
Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
You must be available for a variety of shift times including sleep over shifts.
