Occupational Therapy | Allied Health Adult Inpatient Care - Casual Opportunities | Weekend, Public Holiday and Weekday Cover
Monash Health is seeking experienced and adaptable Grade 2 Occupational Therapists to join our Casual and Weekend Occupational Therapy Service across Monash Health’s bed-based services. This is an exciting opportunity for confident clinicians with strong hospital experience who thrive in fast-paced clinical environments, can work autonomously, and bring a strong interprofessional, holistic and patient-centred approach to care.
As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist within the casual and weekend service, you will provide timely, high-quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention to support patient outcomes and facilitate safe, efficient discharge planning. You may work across a broad range of Monash Health bed-based services, including acute and subacute inpatient settings across multiple sites.
About the Role
The Grade 2 Casual and Weekend Occupational Therapist provides clinical support across Monash Health bed-based services through weekend, public holiday and weekday casual cover. The role requires a flexible, organised and responsive clinician who can adapt quickly to changing clinical priorities and work effectively across a variety of inpatient environments.
Weekend shifts are rostered across Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, with shift lengths varying from four to eight hours. The weekend Occupational Therapist may at times be the sole on-site OT clinician, requiring confidence, sound clinical reasoning and the ability to practise autonomously while maintaining strong communication with allied health, nursing and medical colleagues on duty.
The Weekday Casual Service may provide cover across Monash Health’s acute and subacute bed-based services from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Clinicians participate in daily workload huddles and are guided by the senior Occupational Therapist regarding clinical priorities for the shift.

About You
You are an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys working in inpatient hospital settings and is confident managing clinical priorities in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills and a flexible, solutions-focused approach to care.
You are comfortable working autonomously, including as the sole on-site OT clinician during some weekend shifts, while also valuing collaboration with allied health, nursing and medical colleagues. You are organised, adaptable and committed to delivering safe, timely and person-centred occupational therapy care.
